Chapter 4: Artificial Intelligence Pt 5

Dust and sand was all she could see. The barren wasteland was empty and all she could do was stumble. Crystaall couldn't even remember what happened or how she got here. She just remembered the handle and her other self. It chanted 'No one survives.' like it was the protector, but there was no way she would be obligated to protect something like that, nor look like a ghost while doing so. She couldn't imagine what could cause that kind of transformation and she didn't care to think about it any longer. All she could do was continue walking. To where? She didn't know, but she assumed that walking this way would be better than turning around and losing all the time she spent in this one direction. Her clothes were ragged and her necklace left a cold chill across the back of her neck. To her it was almost refreshing with the hot suns of Tatooine bearing down on her. She was also wearing a ragged black robe that was tattered as if she had been engaged in a climactic sword duel. She tried to think back to before the fight she had. She was confident and sure of herself, but the man had too many tricks and had a lightsaber. He cut of her arms just to capture her. Maybe he believed her to be a threat if she had her strength to fight back. And yet he gave her new ones. Stronger ones. Arms with the possibility to hammer through metal with a quick number of blows. But something was missing. It soon clicked in her head and Crystaall nearly fell into the hard sand at the thought. Grey-Kast. What happened to Grey-Kast? She stumbled again as tears nearly formed in her eyes at the thought of his possible demise. Could she have caused another death with her innocence? With her loss of memory?  With the fact that her past was never explained, never given to her? This couldn't be her fault. It was all of Vex's fault....... Vex, the man who she knew would always be her friend, who would protect her until death came knocking. Even with his lies, he protected her as anyone would to protect a loved one. It was possible he knew she didn't fit in royalty. Crystaall knew that she would never be able to stomach that kind of leadership, not now at least. Or was she just a priceless item in the destiny of another, with Vex as the loyal pawn? She couldn't imagine Vex being a pawn, listening with blatant disregard of his own feelings, of his own opinions. These thoughts held so much weight upon her mind that she began to slow her pace. She stopped walking and soon just fell to her knees with tears. The memmories of her best friend would be just that, now with no one for her to speak to. Maybe it was just the bad part of herself speaking to her that said that she needed to die, here in this sand.

"Are you so blind, that you think for yourself only? Move forward little one. Your destiny is yet to begin."

And there it was, the mysterious voice that spoke to her only a day or so ago. Perhaps this voice was her conscious, or her heavenly protector. She chuckled at this thought. She never believed in such religious foolishness. All she knew was how to pull the trigger. Crystaall could hear a loud noise of a motor rushing nearby, perhaps it was a speeder or maybe a small land-speeder? She wouldn't be able to tell, as the light soon faded from her eyes and she let the darkness take her, with the hopes of no more crazy dreams.
