Chapter 1: Wrong Orders part 3

It was a direct hit, and the man never saw it coming as he stumbled backwards into the tiled wall and holding the left side of his jaw. The girl was full of anger and wanted to hit the man again but decided against it. She could not believe he thought she was not the one who took down the wookie. She was wearing armor that a lightsaber could not break. The man's complete disregard of his surroundings made him deserve that busted jaw. She walked up to him and grabbed him by the collar of his robe and pulling his face toward her own. He looked frightened, and she was not surprised because she knew her face was flushed with red revealing her anger up-close and personal to this man. He witnessed her anger with one punch and a simple look in the eye. He whimpered and began apologizing like a poor man would beg for his life. She threw him off and brushed her hand against her right breastplate and held out her left hand.

"Give me my money now, before to shake all of your credits off you and send your mangled body to your boss."

The man only nodded in fear, tossing a small blue pouch bag at her and slowing walking toward the entrance, leaving the diner with a hand holding his face together. The girl caught the bag and only watched the man leave and exit her line of sight. Once he did she quickly fixed her hair and sat back down, putting the bag on the table and pushing it to her trandoshan friend. He began laughing and smiled at her.

"You can't be seriously paying me all that for one bottle."

"Never said I was. You can take half of the cut though."

The lizard man nodded with a smile on his face as he took the bag and headed to the back of the diner to fetch the right bottle. As he did this, the girl turned to look out the same window her friend did, watching the people scamper about. Not all were poor but you could tell there was a large portion of those people that hung around here. A haven from the Empire for bounty hunters that knew the art of stealth.

"And yet you stand here, watching. Are you so eager to know the life of a poor man? Or do you seek your truth?"

The mysterious voice was like a whisper in her ear, the sound of an old man.. Yet when she turned to face the man, no one was there. But they sounded so close, as if she was staring him in the eye from an inch away. But no one showed and she almost turned to the window again just as the trandoshan arrived with the bag and bottle of whiskey.

"You shouldn't be drinking at your age you know?"

"Then you clearly do not see the influence you leave on me."

"Ha! Have a good one Crys. And be safe."

The name she never had a choice with. Her eyes full of bright light and as blue as the sky: Crystaall. The double a and ls indicated her unique personality for her age. Strong, wise and yet naive and full of reckless attitude. She took the bottle and pouch, clipping the pouch to her belt and placing her helmet back on. She walked out without the head, leaving it on the table for her friend to take as a trophy. Her apartment was only a few blocks down and it looked like a two story shack. The front door was always tilted and as she pushed it open, it fell off. She sighed and slowly climbed the steps that had no railing, but creaked loudly. It was almost loud enough to wake her neighbor that lived under her. She opened her door and slammed the battle on the table close to the door. Her apartment was just one big room with rusted walls and a toilet and shower in a small room off a corner. what she had in the room was more important. Dusty clothes with holes and wrinkles in an open pantry. She had a huge desk with a portable system hooked up to the holonet and her equally massive bed, meant for a king. She sighed as she took off her helmet and placed it on the desk, pressing a small button on her armor's collar. This activated multiple gears, making the armor click and clash with itself as it began to fade away under itself, folding up with its many peices. Within a few moments, all that was left was a necklace around her neck.

The girl only sighed and pointed to an empty booth that, with the lizard's acknowledgement, they walked to with care as they both refused to look at the other. They both sat down, the girl slipped into the booth with ease, placing her helmet on table and watched as her heavy friend tried to squeeze himself into the opposite seat, across from her. He soon fell with a thump on the seat, the noise hiding the kid's small laugh. The trandoshan failed to find amusement in his act and allowed his arms to rest on the table.

"So.... how are you doing with those 'jobs' of yours? You don't seem to need me for comfort anymore."

"Look, I never said that I don't need you, but I need you now, at least for the moment as I wait for my client to show. I could have done this in the street and not even come by, but I chose your diner because its my home away from home."

"So you did kill him? You killed your only mentor to fulfill a life of killing as a hired gun, with the possibility of being killed by a stronger target?"

"I killed him because I promised that I would. I never break my promises. You know this. Vex knows this, as does everyone else who knows me."

The trandoshan sighed and looked out the window toward the dark street, looking past its gloomy houses and people to see the bright light of the surface draining into the massive whole where ships hovered up and down, looking for their own destination and disregarding any other. The girl turned around in her seat to see a man in white robes open the front door to the diner, looking around like he was lost and in need of someone to help him. But the man soon saw what he needed as he walked over to the girl and her friend. The girl put her hand out to shake the man's hand but instead was rudely ignored as the robed man with his fancy hair and goatee take her friend's hand and shake it with a lot of force.

"Sir, I wish to thank you for getting rid of that wookie for me, he was causing so many problems for my business. But I have to ask how you managed such a feat when you look like a drunk slaver with a massive beer gut?"

The girl had enough of that man's talk as she stood up and threw her right fist at the man's jaw.
