Book 2 Prologue: Power Within

It was freezing cold. The sonw that was violently thrashed around on the surface blew away anything that stood. It was a harsh blizard. One that Hoth had not seen for quite some time as a three man squad struggled to push through it. It began to beat them harder and harder with pellets of snow and icy cold wind. The fur that covered their gear made them warm, but they definitly were not comfortable with how ragged and messy their armor was becoming. The first one raised a fist as the other two stopped. The blizard raged on as they stood there, waiting for an order. The first soldier held up a device that looked like a radar. The green screen had an orange line spin clockwise as a green circle pinged up after every rotation. A beep appeared every now and then on the right side, which allowed the first man to point to the right and continue walking. It took them several minutes to find their target, but they found it almost immidiately. Large metal doors faced the whole group as it stared them down. They looked at it for a moment until on of the other soldiers reached up for his right wrist and tapping a button on the attached communication device.

::Echo Base, this is Recon 1-3, over::

The man's voice was a bit raspy, but you could tell he was at least in his mid-twenties

::This is Echo Base. Recon 1-3 report, over::

::Echo Base, we found it. How shall we proceed? over::

::Recon Team 1, you must enter the facility and take anything we can use.::

::Roger that Echo Base. Proceed with caution and find souvenirs.::

::Radio silence once you're inside Recon Team 1. Blizard managed to pick off two men, we'll be searching in the morning. I repeat... Radio silence until morning::

::Copy that::

The man lowered his arm as he took his rifle off his back, as did the others. They then assumed a crouched walk, making their way into the base through a medium sized vent system. The vent was crowded and dark, but they soon dropped down into a hangar, barely being able to hear the storm outside. The hangar lights were bright.... but it soon went dark. Everything then began to go haywire.
